What does Lennox(AC/Heater Repair), Fox(Electrical Repair), Jiffy Lube, Precision Tune, Cablevision, Office Max, Radio Shack, Computer Renaissance, Canon(Fax), Clarks Alternators, and Yankee Gunsmith have in common?   Together these companies make up the mission of Echo Company 704th MSB, the most technical company in the Battalion.

Echo is the Electronics and Missile maintenance company and we support 28 customer units in the 4th Infantry Division.

The company consists of three platoons:   Headquarters platoon(HQ), Communications & Electronics platoon(C & E), and Missile platoon (MS).

HQ platoon provides organizational level supply, maintenance, and administrative support for the company.

C & E platoon consists of two sections:   Communication and Electronics(C & E) and Fuel and Electronics(F & E).   C & E maintains radios, radars, telephones, night sights, computers, and comsec equipment.  F & E on the other hand repairs heaters, generators, starters, and wiring harnesses.  They also provide the test facility for batteries in the Division.

Missile platoon has three sections:  MLRS, Air Defense Artillery(ADA), and Integrated Family of Test Equipment(IFTE).  MLRS repairs radar, track, wheel, power generator and MLRS weapons systems.  The ADA section repairs Avengers and IFTE is the test facility that tests and repairs for the MLRS, Paladin and Avenger weapons systems.

Our face has changed in the past six months. The Class IX warehouse was transferred to Alpha Company 704th MSB, the TOW support section was transferred to Bravo Company 404th ASB, and the F & E section is scheduled to move to the 544th Maintenance Battalion, 13th COSCOM.

In May 99, Echo & Delta will finish combining and form the first Area Support Maintenance Company.  In Jun 99, we will reflag as Charlie, when the Division Support Battalion stands up.
